Early Immigrant Shipping to New Zealand - 1835 to 1910
I
have developed an
interest,
through genealogy, in the ships
that brought the early immigrants to New Zealand. As most people are
aware there is no one centralized index of these early ships that
brought our ancestors to New Zealand from far off places. A result of
this interest is the setting up of two indexes
one for ships originating from the United Kingdom or Ireland and the
other for ships originating from other countries. The period covered,
is 1835 to 1910. These indexes give the name of the ship, the port it
left from, the date it left, the port it arrived at, the date it
arrived, the Captain of the ship, how long the voyage took and
sometimes some notes and a link to a passenger list or other useful
information.
