via Plymouth, Teneriffe, Capetown and Hobart, on 25 August 1895.

GOTHIC.
The S.S.
& A. Co.'s ss
Gothic, from London Tit Plymouth, Teneriffe, Capetown, and Hobart,
arrived at
4.40 yesterday afternoon. She left Plymouth at 2.45 pm on 13th July,
and
arrived at Teneriffe at 5.55 am on the 18th; left at noon same day,
crossed the
Equator on 25th, and arrived at Capetown at 6.47 am on 2nd August ;
left at 3.27 pm same day, and on the 13th encountered a fresh southerly
gale, lasting
24 hours, thence S. and S.W. winds and fine
weather to
arrival at Hobart at 9.28 am on 21st; left at 5.30 same evening, and
experienced
moderate to fresh N.W. winds during the run across, arriving
as abve. After being inspected by the
Health Officer
the steamer was berthed at the Queen's Wharf shortly before 6 o'clock.
Her
cargo consists of 3200 tons for all ports, of which 2090 are for
Wellington. Levin
and Co. are the local agents.
